Description

This short course contains significant enhancements to previous versions (as of 1 August 2025), and has recently been refined to incorporate materials relevant for those who plan to use the new report format.

The tutors on the course are highly experienced, qualified specialists in diagnostic assessment report writing and assessment testing for dyslexia and have a good working knowledge of current SASC guidance.

The course is based around carefully designed datasets and case study materials intended to make you think about score profiles, background information and observations.   • Demonstrate understanding of important basic APC statistical constructs such as understanding reliability and using different tables within a variety of manuals some of which you may have experience using: CTOPP2, WIAT-III, Tests of Dyslexia and DASH2
  • Consider the future structure of report writing formats (the new report format is now in use and will be mandatory on 1st January 2027)
  • Think more about report writing styles: what works and what doesn’t
  • Consider the purpose of access arrangements
  • Evaluate different learner profiles, managing both quantitative and qualitative information
  • Enhance your continuing professional development (CPD) record with relevant activities in order to maintain professional practice standards.
