    Meeting in a bright venue overlooking central London, delegates will start the morning with a two-hour presentation/workshop from two of the authors of the Tests of Dyslexia, followed by a one-hour presentation on IDS-2 and executive function with one of the authors of the Intelligence and Development Scales, 2nd Edition (UK). In both session they will learn underlying theory and more on specific subtests. Delegates will then spend the afternoon in lively discussion and workshops focused on using assessments in the new SASC report format with SpLD assessor guides Sally-Ann Morrison and Sarah Sainty.

Morning - Test Authors’ Masterclasses

  • Tests of Dyslexia (ToD) – enlightening session with two of the test’s co-authors

  • IDS-2 & Executive Function – informative session with one of the UK authors of the Intelligence & Development Scales, 2nd Edition

During these presentations you will:

  • Unpack the theoretical models behind ToD and IDS-2

  • Examine structure and key subtests 

  • Link test findings to current definitions of dyslexia and related SpLDs


Afternoon - From tests to reports

Assessors will be guided by Sally-Ann Morrison and Sarah Sainty as they lead practical workshops. You will:

  • consider ToD and IDS-2 subtests and how these link with the 2025 diagnostic assessment report format

  • take part in
  • Interactive group tasks, peer discussion and Q&A to ensure you leave with tools you can apply immediately.

Delegates will gain:

-additional knowledge of two of the most popular ‘WRIT alternatives’ (TOD and IDS-2) from the authors themselves,

-hands-on support with mapping assessments to the new SASC report format, underlying theory & statistics.

Practising SpLD assessor (level 7 or APC) or in training.
