Description
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the FAM, including its structure, subtests, and what each subtest measures. The course will highlight which subtests are essential for identifying Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) in mathematics/dyscalculia, and how results can be used to inform diagnostic decision-making. Access to the FAM is required for participation.
Learning outcomes
This course provides:
1. An in-depth understanding of the structure and purpose of the Feifer Assessment of Mathematics (FAM).
2. How to select and administer the subtests required for a SpLD Maths/dyscalculia assessment.
3. The structure of the FAM screener.
4. Practice in scoring some of the FAM subtests.
Course prerequisites
Level 7 qualification in teaching and assessing learners with dyslexia or dyscalculia .
