Description

This course is aimed at practising assessors who assess learners at Pre-16 as well as those working with adults who wish to further their knowledge of assessing this age group. Delegates should hold an APC or have completed a L7 qualification in the assessment and teaching of SpLD learners. Using real case studies there will be opportunity to explore relevant background information, tests to use, how to report quantitative and qualitative information and how to make suitable recommendations. The course will broaden understanding of the new report format and how to map it to the Delphi definition of dyslexia.

  • Principles of the new report format
  • Mapping to the Delphi definition
  • Collecting background information that is appropriate for this age group
  • Areas that must be assessed when writing a report suitable at Pre-16 
  • Using suitable tests
  • How to report quantitative and qualitative test information
  • Making appropriate recommendations at Pre-16
