Description
This course is for diagnostic assessors who want to extend their practice into the workplace. It will examine relevant areas in relation to assessment, recommendations, current legal frameworks and procedures, and link to best practice in relation to adult assessment to the benefit of employers and employees.
It will include:
- Adding recommendations to a DSA report for the workplace
- Diagnostic assessments for the workplace – what is similar to DSA reports and what are the differences
- Legal framework (Equality Act, 2010)
- Access to work
- Reasonable adjustments and strategies
- Workplace needs assessments
Learning outcomes
- To understand the legal framework affecting employees with SpLDs in the workplace
- To understand the Access to Work scheme
- To be able to identify how a diagnostic report can be adapted for the workplace
- To identify appropriate recommendations for reasonable adjustments and strategies
- To understand what is different about a workplace needs assessment

Delegates should hold an assessment practising certificate.
