Assessment Report Formats

SASC provides guidance on suitable assessment report formats for qualified SpLD assessors.

The Report Format for Diagnostic Assessment of SpLDs 2025 is now downloadable from the SASC website. This format will be required for use from 1 January 2027, but may be used before that date.

We have incorporated the additional guidance into the format document so they can be read together. However, to assist accessibility for a range of users, we have made the format and guidance available in 3 different ways. 

Additional guidance and explanatory detail is provided throughout in numbered comment boxes, allowing assessors immediate access to further information and clarification.

Two other document downloads are also available: the report format minus the guidance in comments, and the additional guidance comments collected together as a separate document.

The latest SASC approved report formats can be downloaded from the links below.

SASC  the Pre and Post 16 Report Formats and Additional Guidance documents, which can be used until 1 January 2027 accessed from the links below and are also available in the Downloads section of the website.
