Joel will discuss aspects of Section B of SASC's recent consultation paper on dyslexia, including recent thinking and research regarding conceptualisations of dyslexia and criteria for its identification. The usefulness of concepts such as persistence, dimensionality, risk, resilience, developmental trajectory and risk accumulation, underpinning a dynamic, dimensional model for understanding developmental difficulties, including dyslexia, will be considered.

She will discuss the implications of the outcomes of this survey, and other separate responses to the paper. She will outline potential amendments to the paper that will now be considered and discuss what future work needs to be done.
