Assessing using an on-line video platform can bring many benefits but it also presents challenges, which means that a different approach is required. This CPD course is designed for practitioners who wish to expand their knowledge to be able to carry out an Evaluation of Need (not a Full Diagnostic Assessment) using an on-line video link.

Selecting resources
Maintaining quality
Preparation before the assessment
Report writing
Recommendations for reasonable adjustments

  • Reviewing principles of psychometrics, statistics, assessment and underlying theory
  • SpLD testing methods, interpretation, report writing, feedback and test materials
  • Assessors
  • Candidates must already hold Level 7 in SpLD or equivalent

  • Awareness of the key differences when assessing current needs on-line
  • Understanding of issues relating to selection of resources, analysis and interpretation of results
